One of the next opportunities to see that work firsthand is our Summer Summit on Thursday, July 16th, and I sincerely hope you will make plans to join us. This entirely new event is focused on one of the most important challenges facing every company in our industry—workforce development. We are excited to showcase Universal Technical Institute (UTI) in Mooresville, where attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about the school's low voltage program that is helping prepare the next generation of technicians.
We are also pleased to welcome Justin Derham, Program Director at Universal Technical Institute, who will share details about the program and discuss ways our member companies can connect with graduates entering the workforce. Building stronger partnerships with educational institutions is essential to growing our talent pipeline, and we are excited about the opportunities this collaboration represents.
In addition to learning about UTI, attendees will participate in discussions focused on building workforce development programs throughout North Carolina, implementing onboarding and training strategies using NCSLVA resources, and collaborating on practical solutions that help attract, develop, and retain the next generation of technicians and industry professionals. We will also conduct an important Membership Meeting, including a vote on proposed bylaws updates that will help position our association for continued growth.
Another milestone worth celebrating is the success of our new quarterly event schedule. The response from our members has been outstanding, and it's clear that providing more opportunities throughout the year to learn, network, and collaborate is exactly what our association needs. Because of your participation and support, we fully intend to continue this quarterly event cadence in 2027, giving our members even more opportunities to stay engaged with NCSLVA and one another.
Our commitment to advocacy continues to grow as well. In June, Executive Director Shannon Few represented NCSLVA at the NC/SC Chiefs of Police Alarm Management Meeting, where law enforcement leaders and industry professionals came together to discuss alarm management issues, share best practices, and collaborate on solutions that benefit both public safety and our industry. Maintaining strong relationships with our law enforcement partners is an important part of ensuring our members remain informed and engaged on issues that directly affect their businesses.
These are just a few examples of the work your association is doing every day on behalf of our members. Thank you for your continued support of NCSLVA.
